The drug can be used to treat seizures, especially akinetic seizuers, petit mal seizures, and myoclonus. The medication can be used on its own, or alongside other drugs to treat the more severe of those conditions.

Clonazepam is a member of the benzodiazepines family. Those drugs can interact with other drugs that affect the brain's functions, such as alcohol and depressants, as well as narcotics. You must not use this drug in combination with any of the above. Women in pregnancy must not use the drug as well, as it has been shown to cause damage to unborn babies, and secrete itself in breastmilk, therefore harming children being breastfed as well.
Side effects
Side effects associated with the use of this medication include sedation, dizziness, unsteadiness and weakness. You may feel slightly depressed, disoriented or get a minor headache. The drug can cause a physical dependence in patients who're predisposed to it.
Patients have reported a short-term loss of the feeling of self-worth, agitation, and an inability to fall asleep. If the medication has been used for prolonged periods of time, stopping the treatment can produce side effects such as muscle cramps, loss of appetite, vomiting, sweating. To stop using the medication in those cases, the most efficient method is to lower the dosage gradually.
